For educational outreach programs of all types, Progger’s members focus on topics that are relevant to an increasingly complex environment for musicians who aspire to elevated artistic and professional goals. These topics include but are not limited to:

  • Developing an individualistic and thorough approach to composing, performing, improvising, recording, and producing music.
  • Using all available modern resources to achieve unique, authentic, creative expression in live performances, demo recordings, and full studio productions.
  • Finding a disciplined balance between creative goals and professional career necessities.
  • Navigating the tricky labyrinth of the music industry: booking, touring, recording, releasing, and licensing music.

Experience


Academically, Progger’s members boast strong credentials. The band features alumni of such world-class programs as the University of North Texas College of Music, the Berklee College of Music, the University of Miami Frost School of Music, the University of Texas Butler School of Music, and New York University. Each member of Progger has extensive private and classroom teaching experience and several hold Master’s degrees.

Professionally, Progger’s personnel have toured and recorded with a wide variety of critically-acclaimed artists including Snarky Puppy, Erykah Badu, Chrisette Michele, Col. Bruce Hampton, Arthur Brown, the Supremes, Kool and the Gang, Okkervil RiverLucius, and San Fermin, in addition to Progger’s own albums and tours.

Bandleader Brian Donohoe holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of North Texas where he appeared on four albums by the Grammy-nominated One O’clock Lab Band. His compositions, arrangements, and performances appear on recordings by Snarky Puppy, Bill Laurance, Okkervil River, Nelo, Moosehound, Progger, and many more.
